Thatte Idli Sandwich
Whenever I make Idlis for breakfast, I make my life a little easier by sending the same for lunch in a different avatar. Usually convert them to baked Idli fingers or Tava Idli or like today, I just got a little innovative and made Sandwiches out of them 🙂
I made Thatte Idlis, made two varieties of chutneys, a green mint-coriander chutney with almonds and a red Ginger and tomato chutney, slightly toasted the idlis on tava, spread the chutneys, spread some mashed potatoes n topped with a few veggies n cut them in wedges tada, got the most colourful and exciting idlis I had ever had 🙂 I had them for breakfast n they were yum! 🙂 The same were sent for lunchbox but since I was short on time, I couldn’t click pics of the lunch menu as such.

Wow, looks very yummy and easy to make too, gonna try it for my son’s lunchbox too 🙂 can you please share the recipe for almond chutney Krishnapriya?
Thanks for the comment Hema. The green chutney is made with a large handful of mint and coriander leaves each, a green chilly and a small handful of almonds, salt and lime juice. Just run them all together in a mixie with a few tsps of water and its done 🙂
Super mai, Idli sandwich – nice idea, very attractive to kids
